Barnetby
About
Barnetby railway station with its four platforms may seem excessive for the village of Barnetby-Le-Wold. The station is busy with freight trains using the Port of Immingham. Trains calling at Barnetby operate between Manchester and Cleethorpes, Leicester and Grimsby, and Sheffield and Cleethorpes. Barnetby village is by the Lincolnshire Wolds and the station is an excellent location for walking in the Wolds.
What's in the Area?
Humberside Airport
Humberside Airport is just a 10-minute taxi ride from Barnetby station. Eastern Airways fly to Aberdeen and during the summer to Jersey. KLM flies to Amsterdam.
Wrawby Windmill
Two miles along the A18 stands Wrawby post mill high on a hill and on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and overlooking the Ancholme valley and Brigg. The Postmill is an example of an early type of windmill that was once common across the UK. There are now less than 45 surviving examples with even fewer being fully operational. Bus X4 or North Lincolnshire Council's Just Go demand responsive bus will enable you to reach the windmill.
